Right off the front porch. Flag pole and all.
I was mowing the grass yesterday and went to throw my t-shirt over the handrail and ducked as usual to not bump into the flag. Then I realized that I didn't have to duck......"Hey where is the hell is the flag?!?!?!?", I thought. We looked everywhere....no flag.
Someone stole our flag??? I went and bought another one yesterday afternoon. Flying proud again.

Glad you could replace it.
Maybe put some kind of nasty goo on the metal so it will be harder to steal next time.

The flag should never be allowed to touch the ground and, if flown at night, must be illuminated. If the edges become tattered through wear, the flag should be repaired or replaced.

Display of the Flag 24 Hours a Day
There is no absolute prohibition in federal law on flying the flag twenty-four
hours a day. The Flag Code states:
It is the universal custom to display the flag only from sunrise to sunset on
buildings and on stationary flagstaffs in the open. However, when a patriotic
effect is desired, the flag may be displayed 24 hours a day if properly illuminated
during hours of darkness.23
