years to come--they need to engage in a peace accord with the Afghan government. People need to realize that the fucking war is ending and we aren't going to be there anymore in a year and a half. Edit to add: The Congressional GOP knew this specific trade was in the works for a while--it's hilarious to watch them pretend they're "shocked! Shocked I say!"

All that are left are rank and file who got swept up or were the victim if someone collecting money for naming names.

They aren't being brought into the US for three reasons:
1. They are of no use and bringing them here would expose that.
2. The US wouldn't get a conviction on any of them because of the torture that has taken place there.
3. Political pressure and boogeyman nonsense from the right to keep its original justification AND #'s 1 and 2 from being exposed.

We gave them next to nothing to get an American citizen back. As a member of the military the DoD has a responsibility to do that as well.
