(574 posts)will affect the price of burritos in SF? (It's not pretty, even vegan burritos are going to cost more...)
I really have a point, because you're asking a good question. My point is that your question is too general and if you have a point to make, you should make it. Science is science, the scientific method can be applied to a whole lot of disagreements, and anyone who disagrees with, well math and science, I disagree with.
Burritos in SF? Big Universe, and everyone's opinion is equal, because burritos don't depend on math or science but on artistry, and everyone's opinion on artistry is valid.

(3,730 posts)Does that make me a bad person?
Also, where do you get the best vegan (or vegetarian) burritos in SF?

(574 posts)and I usually like whole beans more anyway. There are two things I can suggest, the first is be a regular. Find a place that has one, pre-made ingredient that you like more than others and keep going there. My ingredient to use as a benchmark is guacamole. A place that takes care of their guac, so that it's consistently one that you like is a keeper.
My second tip for vegans is, once you are recognized as being a regular, is have them "overcook" your tortilla. It's a funny thing, but on a vegetarian/vegan burrito, having the tortilla cooked on the griddle on BOTH SIDES makes enough of a difference to matter. I'm not saying your tortilla should come off the grill as stiff as lavosh, but really cooked. I don't know why it matters, I'm an omnivore, and I notice that I don't notice in a meat-ish or even a vegetarian (cheese, sour cream) burrito, it really makes a difference when going vegan.
Good grief, now I'm hungry.

(3,891 posts)I respect reasoned arguments even if I don't agree with the conclusion. I posted elsewhere that if I do change my opinions, it is because the reasoned argument caused me to go back and look at my core beliefs in a new light.
I respect people with first hand knowledge. I respect people with differing points of views so long as they have some reason to believe the way they do, some solid factual or scientifically based position.
I do not respect people who seek to argue just to argue. I don't like people who won't address one thing you say, and instead try and either twist a partial phrase, or throw strawman arguments at you. I have no respect what so ever for someone who has no evidence to support their positions. I have nothing but disdain for people who when confronted with evidence from a variety of sources cling to their wrong headed beliefs. These people are little more than flat earth types. They give morons a bad name. They are worthy of nothing more than the aforementioned disdain.
If you have a reason to state what you state. Then I respect your opinion even if it is different from my own. You'll find I respect you far more if you can explain what you believe, and why.

I enjoy a good civil debate in the hopes of influencing the other person and/or growing/learning from the exchange as well.
I don't care for arguing just for argument sake.
Thanks for the thread, struggle4progress.

(45,380 posts)depending on how different folks look at the same issue. Then there is the general liberal tendency to always be rebellious without needing a reason. DUers love to argue. I get suspicious when too many come to a consensus too quickly without adequate discussion first.
