Open Carry Texas accomplished what the majority of Americans never could:

They got the National Rifle Advertisers to admit that guns everywhere for everybody is not a good idea. They even freaked out 80% of Texas--about guns. One would have thought pictures of the Bundy Klan sighting in on federal agents would have accomplished as much. Nope! They took the threat to Main Street and the mall and showed America that many in this country are getting by with domestic terrorism. [If you (the reader) don't believe me: ask Mothers Against Gun Violence.]

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2014/06/03/nra-says-open-carry-texas-group-too-extreme/Open Carry Texas slammed the NRA Monday in a post on its Facebook page, saying, "The NRA has refused to learn for themselves how Open Carry Texas conducts itself other than what the liberal media and [former New York City Mayor Michael] Bloomberg funded gun control extremists have falsely portrayed. The more the NRA continues to divide its members by attacking some aspects of gun rights instead of supporting all gun rights, the more support it will lose."

Maybe this wacko far right will make the NRA weigh the cost of their greed.

I don't know how much that weight will stack up against profits, but they were--at least once--forced to admit that their fundamental philosophy is wrong. Score one for the truth.
