“When Flora moved into her car…”

While some that call themselves liberals are content with the status quo, Sen Elizabeth Warren isn’t. In an except from her book published in the Rim County Gazette - (http://rimcountrygazette.blogspot.com/2014/05/massachusetts-senator-elizabeth-warren.html) she tells a story about one of the millions of victims of the housing market crash exacerbated by the gutting of bankruptcy safety nets for the lower classes. The story is about Flora that lived on her Social Security and how she was tricked by her “banker” into refinancing her home. Spoiler alert, Flora lost everything.

Sen Warren writes:

I don’t know for sure if anyone at the giant banks engaged in criminal activity in the months and years leading up to the financial meltdown. But that’s the point: I don’t think anyone knows for sure. Where were the full-scale public investigations? Where were the armies of auditors, seizing hard drives and poring over financial statements? Where were the teams of regulators who were supposed to be checking the books all along? Where were the signs—any signs at all—that somebody with real power was taking this responsibility seriously?

So the high-powered CEOs collect millions of dollars, and Flora moves into her car.

I say there are two sides in this class war, the People’s side, the Left; and the Corporate-Oligarch side, the Right.
The Left wants the government to reestablish safety nets for the People and reinstall needed regulations to control the banks.
The Right wants to continue cutting safety nets and reducing regulations of the Banks.
Now there is another group that while claiming to be on the left, want to continue the status quo. Continue watching the poverty levels and unemployment levels kill the middle and lower classes.

I recommend you read Sen Warren’s most recent book, “A Fighting Chance”
If you don’t want to continue with the status quo, help draft Sen Warren for President for 2016.

Because the Plantation model has been successful for so few for so long...

The are even putting out books trying to spin things in their favor, such as here. People laugh in their face when they try and tell them it was for their own good.

I think the little bastard leaves out that he was sleeping in a bedroom provided free by one of his banker friends while he was shoveling them hundreds of billions of dollars.

He was preceded by smarter authors who really were on the side of the people. Too bad people read the wrong one for wisdom.

4. It will be a long time before we elect a fresh Senator to the White House - from either party

Especially a fresh senator with no executive experience but with great oral skills.

And while Warren has her heart in the right place about domestic issues, we have no idea what her policies are on foreign affairs. Clinton could have ignored it, most of the time, Obama could not and neither will a future president - for a long time.

I wish there was a direct correlation between the Democratic Party, and the Republican Party.

Broadly speaking we have two corporate parties: centrist, and extreme right.

Unfortunately millions of people vote for the extreme right, against their own interests. The oligarchs have been very successful at draping themselves in the flag with the bible in one hand and the other in everyone's pockets.
