House Speaker John Boehner calls for hearings over Bowe Bergdahl release

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner backed calls on Tuesday for congressional hearings on the decision to swap five Taliban prisoners from the Guantanamo detention center for captured U.S. soldier Bowe Bergdahl.

“The administration has invited serious questions into how this exchange went down and the calculations the White House and relevant agencies made in moving forward without consulting Congress despite assurances it would re-engage with members on both sides of the aisle,” Boehner said in a statement.

Boehner said he joined all Americans in welcoming Bergdahl home, but signaled there will likely be a series of hearings at least in the Republican-led House looking into the circumstances of his release.

Rightwingers dont give a shit about the troops unless it is a relative and even then sometimes they will throw them under the bus if they complain about PTSD, for instance.

So would McCain have done the same thing Obama did, of course.

So would the right have applauded him instead of crucify him, of course.

remember, the first president ever to be forced to go under oath and respond to the questions about whatshername

The mainstream GOP know better, that while Obama has low approval ratings now (how insane is that, compared to any repub president of the past 40 he is almost a literal Superman) an impeachment hearing would absolutely get him sympathy and raise his approval ratings

But

Teaparty knows or cares nothing about these logical observations, they hate Obama purely because of skin color and they want to impeach him.

Heaven forbid they might get something productive accomplished otherwise.
