Have you ever heard the Randi Rhodes interview of this pile of shit shortly after he managed a deal on Iran Contra?

Randi properly said he had been convicted of whatever it was and he kept refusing to admit that he was, a real piece of shit, that one.

I'll look for it. Thanks.

If the GOP wants to bring up this "deserter" shit, then Deserter George W. Bush is, to quote Karl Rove, "fair game".

The Taliban was considered "terrorist" and President Clinton had put sanctions on Afghanistan. But lo, and behold, Bush's Secretary of State, gave the Taliban $43 million dollars.

Just as Unocal had the Taliban in Sugar Land, Texas discussing building a pipeline from the Caspian Sea through Afghanistan and to Pakistan.

rurallib, there's a lot posted here at the DU about this in the archives from way back when. George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Condi Rice, Donald Rumsfeld and Colin Powell were already dealing with the Taliban (illegally) right before September 11, 2001. Bing or Google "Carpet of Gold or Carpet of Bombs" and "John O'Neil".

Afghanistan's number one export is "narcotic" - the local term for opium. There was enough in their warehouses to supply the next year's demand and the Taliban was afraid of a depression in the street price if any more came in, so they burned all the poppy fields - without compensating the farmers for the loss of their year's income. Shrub decided the Taliban had taken a brave action in the war on drugs and sent them a reward of $43 million.

Yeah, America's most famous deserter in history, George W. Bush.

Let the GOP bring up this subject and watch Georgie crawl back under the rock again.
