From his over the top Clinton love to him constantly interrupting guests. I'd rather open a vein than watch 5 seconds of his brand of garbage. Fuck you tweety indeed.

He was literally foaming at the mouth. Even by the low standards I hold Matthews to, it was an embarrassing performance.

More often than not, his show is an exercise in. beltway cluelessness. Wish he'd retire.

...such as foaming against Clinton over Lewinsky, or getting all tingly-legged about George Bush.
Tweety is best used as a barometer of some Washington cocktail circuits, but what he says is too tied up in his feelings of the moment to be relied upon. Wind vanes are more reliable.

We hate Moore when he's a myopic ass, like when he backed Nader in 2000.

How do I know that?

If he told lies, that is libel and slander, and the person slandered can sue him in civil court.
He has the best libel lawyers at The New Yorker Magazine check every bit of every book he writes, and every movie he makes.

So far, nobody has successfully sued him. Truth is an absolute defense to slander.

And Yes, I AM a lawyer.

People hate the truth and the truth-tellers, because it contradicts their world view.

In the same vein Just because someone is found not guilty by a jury, does not mean they are innocent either.

Most people do not go around suing.

If they did quite a few fox hosts would be in court

Also, I simply said he was a jerk, nothing about his truthfulness or lack of it. I also said he was uninformed, implying that he shoots first and asks questions later.

In other words he jumps to conclusions before all the facts are in.

I mentioned nothing about Michael Moore in my post, so I don't know where that came from

That was not clear.

The people that MM writes about are usually wealthy politicians and public figures who could sue if they wanted to. Some rich people enjoy being a pain in the ass by filing frivolous lawsuits. I worked at the courthouse for many years and I've seen them. They will file a complaint or sue everyone from the bailiff up to the Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court, if they feel like it. Given, these people are mentally ill, but they still can cause a lot of trouble. They can also file complaints against the state board so you can lose your state license for your profession, or subpoena you to appear in a court that has nothing to do with the court you were working in.

Same thing with Kitty Kelley. She writes dirt about famous people, and has two sources for everything she says. And she hasn't been successfully sued either.

And yeah, Tweety doesn't usually know what he's talking about in that Washington insider bubble he lives in.

at least for me. Quit watching him because I couldn't stand his shouting rudeness.

That said, a bunch of us were chatting during dessert one night, and one of the guys said, "Can you imagine Chris Matthews doing the weather report?" Several renditions of that were offered, most of which included the old man yelling at clouds...

Tue Jun 3, 2014, 07:48 PM

More importantly, do you think his employers ever read it? Because I can't imagine there are very many favorable comments in there. Right wing republicans think he is a raving commie, and most Democrats think he is a braying buffoon.

He's the political equivalent of a jock sniffing sports reporter.

Not to mention that he has a faulty memory of his love for W. Why he is trashing this guy and putting on people produced by the republican party is questionable at best. I don't care if he is staying things that may please me,the guy not all there and just plain annoying.
