What's next for you, Taintz?

(32,018 posts)So far, Cindy Sheehan (remember her from protesting at Bush's ranch?) has just 22,083 votes in the California blanket primary for governor.
The way I'm voting, to ensure an easier win for Brown in November, is Tim Donnelly in June and Jerry Brown in November. I think Brown would get a bigger margin of victory over the Tea Party right Donnelly than the center-right (or as Freeperville says "RINO" Neel Kashkari.
Newsjock
(11,733 posts)But he appears to be coming up short against Kashkari -- who, instead of having absolutely no chance in a thousand years of hell of winning in November, has merely no chance in a hundred years of hell of winning in November.

At 53 Percent this race should be done.

I am sure that Ms. Twitz clearly now has proof of massive voter fraud! There can be no evidence of electoral manipulation more powerful than her failure to win one.

(18,791 posts)...the overall turnout for voting today was pathetic and a disgrace. And to think, people all over the World have died trying to get voting rights.

(15,512 posts)54% and rising:
Candidate: Edmund G. "Jerry" Brown
Votes: 1579338
Percent of votes: 54.4
Looks like Cindy didn't do so well though:
Candidate: Cindy L. Sheehan
Votes: 34413
Percent of votes: 1.2
I must confess that I voted for her today, not because I don't support Jerry 110%, but I knew he'd take it, and if P&F doesn't get a certain percentage of the statewide vote (I forget the exact number) they lose their automatic ballot status.

(78,249 posts)I was confused about that, too. That's how it works in Louisiana (the state that originated the "jungle primary"; what a great model to emulate! ); if a candidate gets 50 percent plus one in the primary, s/he is declared elected. But not here. Only Superintendent of Public Instruction works that way. All other constitutional offices go on to November, which is kind of dumb in cases where there are only two candidates to begin with.

(15,512 posts)Despite California's primary system, which sends the top two finishers to the general election regardless of their party preference, most, if not all, of the statewide races this year feature a matchup between a Democrat and a Republican.

(1,363 posts)A lot of those 'votes' was due to the Harris blow out, so people will be people and wanted to be able to say that they voted for her. That way, over the water cooler today, there's plenty of guffaws and giggles. Apparently, that's what happened here,, or you have 57,975 SERIOUSLY disturbed voters.
Brother Buzz
(36,416 posts)Cripes, Cindy Sheehan only got 37,516 votes in Jerry's blow out race.

Now we know that 3.3% of voters in CA are certifiable.

(39,961 posts)certifiable. Not.

(29,704 posts)I do. I'm in Arkansas and we have a guy who became paraplegic because he was a drunk teen driver who now lives off disability and medicaid and denied it for all other Arkansans. If that's not certifiable, I don't know what is.
