The Taliban "Dream Team" Has Not Dribbled A Ball In Thirteen Years

The starting five of the released Taliban are now an average age near 50 years. The team has been imprisoned all that time in the most notorious prison in the world, tortured, force-fed, humiliated, separated from each other. They still have another year in the penalty box under house arrest in the sands of Qatar.

So WTF is everyone talking about, would you put these guys in the game? They are probably barely able to wipe their own asses, let alone ever be collectively or individually of great concern......but the return of the Last Warrior is cause for celebration, screw the media and the GOP.

Edit: By the way, every brown man wearing turban and a beard is not AQ, you simple, lying, racist morons. And that includes the Duck Dynasty crowd and their bandana, put a turban on any of them and you could call them AQ also, you idiots and traitors.

1. Meanwhile, the Taliban abuse of women lingers on

I doubt these Taliban warriors have any more respect for women now than they did the last time they were abusing women. Screw the Taliban and anyone who has anything good to say about them.

The systematic, total and horrific subjugation and abuse of women under the theological government they administered alone is enough for me to really not shed a single tear for anything that has happened to them.

That they will eventually return to continue it and roll back any progress women made in Afghanistan enrages me, much more than any idea of a threat to the US in any way.

They can move freely in Qatar and will be able to go back to Afghanistan. They certainly will be able to communicate with Taliban in Afghanistan.

6. Different From Sports
Wed Jun 4, 2014, 11:48 AM
Jun 2014

Although I am not opposed to the Berghdal release switch, terrorism is different from sports. Yes, a man or woman in his or her 50s would likely have problems doing well in their chosen sport after a thirteen year absence followed by another year of sitting out. However, a terrorist in his 50s who has been away from the field can be a major contributor. With the exception of technology, nothing has changed in the world after thirteen years.

With most sports a person would have to do some form of extended running, or body movement. That could be hard for most 50 year olds. Terrorism does not require older men, or women to do extended movement. They could just teach their skills to the younger terrorists and tell them what sites to attack.

The Obama Administration should tell the American people why, aside from age, these men were allowed to leave prison. Was the Taliban unwilling to accept any other prisoners? Did the White House, or any officials from the Obama Administration come up with an alternative list of prisoners? Who came up with the number of prisoners to release? Did the White House try to get the number of prisoners to be released reduced?

the deal is what it is. Gnashing of teeth over details is the GOP game. And it was Mr. McCain and friends who keep bringing up the sports analogy, so why is it not fair game to respond in kind?

9. American People Have a Right to Know

The American people have a right to know the details of this deal. Just because the Republicans use the sports analogy does not mean the left has to use it also, or that it is the right analogy.

if they leave Qatar they will be under surveillance, and they know it. Thus if they "return to the battlefield" they will probably be accompanied by a fleet of drones. It is an old trick of authoritarian regimes to release a few dissidents so that they will lead them to others in their networks.

that the government of Afghanistan will take custody, one year after Qatar maybe releases them? No, because it takes away from the ratings bonanza by sticking with the half truths and out right lies.

It is not information we get any more, it is entertainment.
