Maureen Dowd Ate Too Much Pot In Denver And Freaked Out

New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd got really high in Denver and wrote a column to tell you exactly how it went down, all in the name of journalism.

In the column published Tuesday, Dowd explained that she felt the need to sample some edibles herself in order to fully report on the dawn of legal marijuana in Colorado. She nibbled on a candy bar laced with pot and the experiment didn't exactly go well for her:

But then I felt a scary shudder go through my body and brain. I barely made it from the desk to the bed, where I lay curled up in a hallucinatory state for the next eight hours. I was thirsty but couldn’t move to get water. Or even turn off the lights. I was panting and paranoid, sure that when the room-service waiter knocked and I didn’t answer, he’d call the police and have me arrested for being unable to handle my candy.

I strained to remember where I was or even what I was wearing, touching my green corduroy jeans and staring at the exposed-brick wall. As my paranoia deepened, I became convinced that I had died and no one was telling me.

That she took a massive overdose, and had it been nearly any other drug, including aspirin, she would likely be dead, yet she required NO MEDICAL ATTENTION WHATSOEVER.

Let that sink in, Mrs. Dowd.

Yet she was lucid enough to remember, and write, all this? I have known hundreds of pot smokers throughout my 51 years on this planet, even smoked myself for about 37 of those years, and I have only ever met THREE PEOPLE who had tried it, but wouldn't smoke it again because it caused paranoid feelings in them. I have NEVER met ANYONE who hallucinated from pot, except when some friends and I bought some that was laced with PCP... and we didn't know that it was laced. Most acid trips only last around 12 hours, if you just take one hit. I only experimented a few times with acid though... I didn't like it because I couldn;t control the high. I've smoked some of the best pot in the world and never had a buzz that lasted for 8 hours.

I wonder what she had to drink along with her candy, and how much of it she had??

She's a Drama Queen before/without the pot. The whole article smells of a wild imagination for the purpose of attention.

Can you tell I can't stand that woman?
