I get so many political requests for donations that I tend to ignore all of them. But I have noticed how torn I am when the name of a candidate I support is mentioned in the Subject line. When I think the link will take me directly to the candidate's webpage, I find it's just a generic appeal from a Dem organization, which isn't the worst possible option, but I'm at the stage where I want to be certain that my money will go directly to candidates who will actually do something to tackle corporate corruption.
So I'm wondering, is all this name dropping sanctioned by the candidates? Or is there some liberties being taken by the campaign fund raisers with these email appeals?

(31,681 posts)But I'm limiting all donations to Janice Kovach this year - and any 'soft money' organizations supporting her. Your best bet is to go to the web pages of the candidates you wish to support and limit your donations to their direct pages only.
I still feel like the Democratic Party 'money folks' ignored our Gubernatorial Candidate last year. Because of that - I can't support anyone this year who is not in my own backyard. Not gonna do it. We are most likely fighting a losing battle in the NJ-7 but I'm sitting here living in the shadow of Lance and Christie and I've got to put the oxygen mask on myself first. Cheers!
