The Other DDay ( far less celebrated) : Southern France Landing

Happened in 15 August, 1944.

As wonderfull is it to celebrate the 70 anniversary of the D Day in Normandy, I post here this 2009 article about the Other D. Day.
This one is far less known, and far less celebrated for one reason: FRENCH COLONIAL TROOPS TOOK A MAJOR PART OF IT.

So , let's pause and remember those courageous African men who liberated us, and may them later get the reward the deserved, as well as the Allies ones.

The French Expeditionary Corps under General Juin was largely credited for breaking the stalemate at Cassino during Operation Diadem:
