Why the Political Maneuvering on Bowe Bergdahl could have DEVESTATING consequences with the Military

There is a compact between the United States and its military.

The military serves at the discretion of the nation. It serves loyally and it serves unquestioningly.

The compact the US has with its military is, the military leaves nobody behind.

If captured, you WILL be brought home regardless.

Fox NEws has decided it wants to change that compact and because of that single piece of DAMNABLE UNAMERICAN POLITICAL BULLSHIT, every last member of the military has every right to leave tomorrow and tell the entire nation to go fuck itself because if the nation refuses to honor the compact, why the fuck should anybody EVER be willing to volunteer to serve again?

I mean seriously, you give up most of your constitutional rights to serve, the only thing you ask in returnis that if you are captured, your nation WILL bring you home.

Now, the standard has become you only come home after trial by media and if the right person is president.

Fox News has fucked over the military forever with their bullshit.

Have you ever put on the uniform?

I am an American Soldier.

I am a warrior and a member of a team.

I serve the people of the United States, and live the Army Values.

I will always place the mission first.

I will never accept defeat.

I will never quit.

I will never leave a fallen comrade.

I am disciplined, physically and mentally tough, trained and proficient in my warrior tasks and drills.

I always maintain my arms, my equipment and myself.

I am an expert and I am a professional.

I stand ready to deploy, engage, and destroy, the enemies of the United States of America in close combat.

I am a guardian of freedom and the American way of life.

I am an American Soldier.

therer will no longer be a military.

You do not question the bringing home of our prisoners. When captured, what ever it takes to bring them home is the price that MUST be paid.

The nation failed in that compact once, and the military never forgot. I served after the time when the compact was broken and the drill sergeants during my training rammed it into my head that the nation would NEVER AGAIN violate the compact.

Well here we are, the compact is about to be destroyed for all time because of political bullshit nonsense.

Again I ask, did you ever put on the uniform?

If you never wore the uniform, you can NEVER understand the compact.

This in turn undermines the compact, that MohRokTah is speaking of.

Fox Noise is on almost every TV in public areas on Military bases. It is no surprise that so many members of the Military are Republicans.

maybe this is what the RW wants and this is just an opportunity to begin the dismantling or undermining or reorganization of the US armed forces? The far right seems to prefer state militias and local forces to a federally operated system of any kind let alone a military that is centrally operated by the US government. I know that's the John Birch Society position. Corporate control is easier when the powers are disjointed.

Just trying to find that hole in the message. The extreme libertarian point as in JBS/Koch wants to dismantle the federal government for complete corporate control but they would still need some remnant of central military power to stay rich, though I suppose all they would need would be a finger on the button and a threat.

You are probably correct.

I served and was "honorably discharged" after completing my service, I served in war time. For as long as I can remember I was conditioned to be a "soldier" so to speak. My father was in Korea, I was in ROTC, I joined the USAF in 1991. I made a personal decision to reject all of it. I admit I do not know the facts about this case, obviously, but I am not all weepy or feeling patriotic about it either. In fact, I can't stand it anymore, the flag waving, patriotism, "Support the Troops" etc. Just my personal opinions and feelings. I suppose I can put that all aside and be happy that his loved ones have him back. There is that.
