Michael Moore divorce case: Show us the money

Michael Moore and wife Kathleen Glynn have a few things to figure out as they prepare for divorce court in Michigan next month.

Chief among them: What to do with a lakefront mansion that Moore contends his wife wasted millions on, which in turn led to negative headlines about the famously liberal filmmaker like “Moore’s $2M hypocrite house” and “Massive Michigan Vacation Mansion Beyond 99 Percent’s Wildest Dreams.”

The Smoking Gun has all the details and the documents from the divorce case, including an interesting tidbit about Hollywood super-agent Ari Emanuel being called as a witness. He’s the brother of Rahm Emanuel, who is currently Chicago’s mayor and served as President Obama’s chief of staff from 2009 to 2010.

While the split could be contentious, what’s really interesting are hints about the actual net worth of the high-profile supporter of Occupy Wall Street:

The couple’s real estate holdings include a total of nine properties in Michigan and New York. The duo co-owns a Manhattan condo that was created through the combination of three separate units. … While the couple’s combined assets are likely worth tens of millions of dollars, court records do not contain specific valuations for their property.

has been bashing the liberals a lot lately. I always found US Today a liberal paper. They have a story bashing Braley about a sexist video that actually isn't sexist. Have they changed owners?

here at least - have been moving right for a while. Maybe a change at CEO or on the board.
I wouldn't trust any corporation.

it's not how much money someone has, it's the unethical extremes many will go to in order to get it in the first place and protect it once they have it

I do not even understand the article. There is a question about Michael Moore being a hypocrite - why, because he has money but still cares about the poor and working class. I guess if you have money you are not allowed to care about the 99%. Shame on them for even asking the question. Michael Moore has money because he earned it period and good for him.

Or he doesn't spend all his money helping the poor anyway. That lets them say things like "Michael Moore wants to take your money and give it to the poor, but when it comes to his own money he keeps it."

I got dinged debating with a conservative once because I took a deduction on my taxes. Same argument more or less.

even if you do decide to be philanthropic.

If so, then we'd better hop in a time machine, go back, and drum FDR and JFK out of the party before they can do any damage.
