Fox News personality Tucker Carlson on Thursday called 16-year-old male victim of a statutory rape by a high school teacher whiny, complaining that he tattled to the police and ruined her life.
The topic of discussion was the case of Joy Morsi, a Queens high school gym teacher accused of having sex with an under-aged student approximately 30 times over a six week period in school storage closets and in her car. Since the first report, another student has also come forward claiming to have had sex with the teacher.
Addressing the issue with the all-female panel on Foxs Outnumbered, Carlson dismissed the notion that the male student was raped, calling it ludicrous.
Its ludicrous that we are calling this a rape. Are you serious? Carson explained. Im not joking a tiny bit. Ill tell you whats wrong to this extent: he went and tattled to the police and destroyed her life. Are you joking? What a whiny country this is.
Carlson, who has previously stated that sexual situations between male students with teachers would be, in the students mind, the greatest thing that ever happened, said the notion of statutory rape with a male student defied common sense.

(6,393 posts)Seriously, does he not get the whole position of power and what that can do to people of any age? All this really says to me is that Carlson has likely used HIS position of power to get his way with people before and can't empathize with those on the other side.

(29,503 posts)The reason I ask is when I was younger and in the closet, this is the type of thing I'd say to acquaintances and coworkers, as a means of burnishing my 'straight' facade.
When I see men put this "lucky guy!" spin on stories of young males being raped by adult females, that is ALWAYS the first question I ask myself - i.e., "does the critic set off my gaydar?". Carlson, with his stupid bow tie, has always done that for me.
Aside from that, the obvious gender double standard he holds is self-evident, and beneath contempt, so I'm just going to let that speak for itself.
