Heard this on the way home.
"Syracuse, N.Y. -- Karen DeCrow, a nationally recognized lawyer, author and leader of the women's movement, died today.
DeCrow, 76, of Jamesville, died at home at 6 a.m. after an extended illness, according to long-time friend Rowena Malamud, president of the Greater Syracuse chapter of the National Organization for Women.
"She was one of my heroes," Malamud said."

I got to see her debate Phyllis Schlafly in the mid-70s. Afterward we (partner and myself) had dinner with her. She had a great sense of humor, very dry.
