1) the law has not gone into effect yet
2) the passage of the law to which i assume you are referring would make no difference if it had or had not been passed.

we could examine them.

We could fund research on gun violence instead of forbidding the CDC to do such research so that we can understand the problem and see if there's a way to fix it.

I refuse to believe that this has to be a normal part of life in American from here on out because no one will talk about this rationally.

In DC is for confiscation. I am personally not for confiscation. I just don't think people need weapons of war that were made for one reason only and that reason is to kill as many people as possible in the shortest period if time possible. We also need to make sure the mentally ill and violent offenders can't get guns.

I think we are about to reach the boiling point and stories like these will be the norm everyday. I just wish if the gun people want to use their guns, they would point them at each other. This way it solves a whole world of problems for those of us who are caught in the crossfire.

Especially, since I live less than 2 miles from the Forsyth County courthouse.

And, the politicians will do nothing because they're more terrified of the NRA than these gun nuts.

Thank you, Nathan Deal, for giving this whack job permission to turn my sleepy little town into the Wild West.

and while i think the law of which you speak is pretty stupid... it would have had no bearing on this guy. he was selling drugs... and an avid gun-buyer/survivalist/sovereign citizen long before this law...

for what it is, domestic terrorism, and go after it like they did in the ME, then these types would have a much harder time doing things like this. They need to start treating these militants like the violent threats to the public that they are. When he was arrested, his bail should have been set so high, he could never get out to go prepare and do something like this. If they started taking threats from right wing militia groups more seriously, a lot of stuff could have been avoided, including this incident.

I do feel like Nathan Deal and Sheriff Duane Piper have given these nuts permission.

A week ago when a gun nut was open carrying at a local sports field and county park, terrifying kids and parents, the Sheriff said the guy was breaking no laws, even though open carry is NOT legal yet. How is that NOT permission for these kooks?

These people need nothing more than the knowledge that open carry is permissible. They have no idea the law isn't even in effect yet. They only know they "won" the battle when the governor signed that damned law.

And, Sheriff Piper confirmed that attitude just last week when he allowed that idiot to walk around terrifying kids doing nothing more than trying to practice playing soccer! The gun nut got permission, and the kids/parents canceled practice and went home.

Method of Carry

Q: Do I need to carry my firearm concealed or may I carry openly?
A: Under the law, a Georgia Weapons License holder may carry a weapon or longgun openly or concealed in any location that is not off limits. However, should you choose to openly carry a handgun, please be aware of the image you present to the public while doing so. They vote.

This man's attorney KNEW he was dangerously close to a "breaking point" and asked him to have a psych evaluation. When he refused, and fired her, she just dropped it.

At what point, do we hold HER responsible for not reporting her concerns to someone? All she had to do was go to the judge in the case and request a court ordered evaluation. She KNEW he was a gun collector, and that he was still collecting guns in violation of his bond on the drug and weapons charges she was defending him on! She KNEW he was upset at the prospect of doing time on the plea deal, because she got fired for negotiating the plea deal!

Instead, she walked away and let society deal with this psycho today.
