Heres Senator Rand Paul speaking at the Republican Party of Texas state convention today, then proudly broadcasting his joke over Twitter. Because theres nothing funnier than sending Democrats to be killed by the Taliban, is there? Im sure it brought the house down.

(11,495 posts)What a load of BS coming from a con man who is trying to win the GOP nomination even though he isn't a "real" republican! I guess the GOP is pretty damned gullible if they believe all this BS. He and his dad only run as republicans because they know there are a lot of brain dead republicans who vote for the letter "R" after a persons name on the ballot, so it helps them since they know damn well they would stand a chance if they put libertarian after their name on the ballot.
Seems like a lot of libertarians are ashamed to admit it!

(8,964 posts)Rand Paul and any other childish proponents of this idea need to display some form of commitment to their plan. So for starters, 5 Tea Partiers shall volunteer to be captured by the Taliban. Then in strict accordance with existing protocol, Congress hems and haws for 30 days over whether they're worth taking back. If all goes well, it's deemed to be NOT such a good idea, as the Taliban won't release them. Then again...
