Hillary Clinton defends U.S. deal for Bergdahl: ‘We bring our people home’

Thought the media said Clinton opposed the trade? Looks like more sloppy reporting on their part.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton defended President Barack Obama’s choice to arrange a prisoner trade to secure the release of POW Bowe Bergdahl in footage aired by ABC News on Friday.

“If you look at what the factors were going into the decision, of course there are competing interests and values,” Clinton told anchor Diane Sawyer. “One of our values is, we bring everybody home off the battlefield the best we can. It doesn’t matter how they ended up in a prisoner of war situation.”

“It doesn’t matter?” Sawyer asked.

“It does not matter,” Clinton said again. “We bring our people home.”
