What do you make of the fact that...The instant there was a crack in the state level control of an issue, the local levels pounced of it feverishly.
All over the state municipal governments stayed open late to issue marriage licenses. Waiting periods were waved. Judges volunteered to preform ceremonies. Everything done in a mad rush, before state control could be reestablished. Seems kinda insurrectiony to me. Maybe mutinous. That would be good.
Mutiny can be fun. If done right, there's loud music, laughing, and beer. Best of all you get to watch Capt. Walker and his band of sour faced gentlemen fade in the distance; cast adrift in a tiny boat on the ocean of disdain.

Dare I hope we are starting to cast off the shackles of republicanism here in Wisconsin?

It feels great- one of the very few good things to happen in the state since Walker and the Republicans began their hateful reign. The pictures from Dane county are just joyous and beautiful. It's been a while since I've seen so many uncontrollable smiles. Too bad other parts of the state can't just lighten up and join in.

Both the Outagamie and Winnebago county clerks told Post-Crescent Media on Friday morning, prior to the ruling, that they would not extend office hours when the ban was lifted. The clerks offices were closing up shop for the weekend when the judge issued her ruling on Friday afternoon.

Outagamie County Clerk Lori O’Bright said the clerk’s office is open 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday to Friday and applications are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“We’re not going to be running any additional hours. I don’t for opposite-sex couples so we’re going to have the same hours,” O’Bright said.
