Not republicans. Apparently some just cannot handle any criticism even if it's from within our own ranks where we put policy before personality or image. Being so obsessed with stamping out internal dissent had become a mockable form of political hypochondria.

billhicks76
(5,082 posts)And I don't lure people into a discussion so I can flag them. That is cowardly. I merely meant that there is a lot of two-faced, duplicity in the world where many things are not as they appear. It's a real low point in this country right now where lying and cheating have become acceptable ways of conducting ourselves. I believe this will change as people realize it more and force a backlash. The new generation where I live has shown a lot of promise when they unplug from their TVs and set a better example.

(5,082 posts)Except it's different where I live. There is a very liberal culture and now those who started it are grandparents and great grandparents which means the new generations have grown up as revolutionary minded since the day they were born. The effect is very noticeable and the community left wing edge is permanently codified much to the disappointment of the authorities.

(37,549 posts)a tablespoon of Old Bay, and about a teaspoon of fresh ground sea salt, a grind or three of fresh pepper, and some liberal shakes of Frank's hot sauce, and mix it in a pitcher.
Take a long, tall glass and fill it half-way with ice. Run a thin slice of cucumber that has been seasoned with rice wine vinegar down the side. Pour all the vodka you want, and then carefully pour the mix on top. Stir carefully, and put a fresh sprig of dill on top that you have lightly crushed with your fingers.
Enjoy. Try making puns after three of these.

(30,439 posts)struggle4progress has posted more informative OP's in the last week than you have since you've been on DU.
There's nothing wrong with having a little fun every now and then which is something you're completely incapable of.
I'm sure you're also a blast at parties.
cali
(114,904 posts)such subjects as the TPP, fracking and other specific topics. You know that. Why make stuff up? I'm always puzzled by people who do that.
No, there's nothing wrong with having fun. I don't particularly view the op as falling under that rubric. And as you don't know me at all, your comment about my being incapable of having fun is absurd. I actually have quite a bit of fun. Went to dinner with friends and family in Stowe the other night. Unshockingly to people who actually do know me, I had fun- even our very nice waiter commented that we all seemed to be having fun. (or maybe he was trying to nicely shush us)
Not much of a big party person, but I'm quite fond of small gatherings and I do go to larger things and manage quite nicely, thank you very much.
Again, your predilection for making things up and liberally throwing them out there, is not the admirable of qualities.
Now you actually have the opportunity to know me a bit better and crack that mind open just a tad. Will you avail yourself of the opportunity? That is entirely up to you.

The suspect horse is of a deep brown color. The starting gate attendant is a big black guy--he may be Kenyan--and a Muslim. You can't see the jockey's face but he has a long jaw...could it be--oh my God--BARAK OBAMA!

I don't think any of them are stable, especially the new crop of Tea Party candidates jockeying for political position. Their economic plans never spur growth, and the way they keep blocking funding for the Veterinarians Administration? It's a night-mare. They should all be put out to pasture.
