All sexism, racism, ageism, homophobia, and transphobia, etc, is rooted in ignorance.

sexism ~ prejudice, stereotyping, or discrimination, typically against women, on the basis of sex.

racism ~ the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, especially so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or races.

ageism ~ prejudice or discrimination on the basis of a person's age.

homophobia ~ an extreme and irrational aversion to homosexuality and homosexual people

transphobia ~ intense dislike of or prejudice against transsexual or transgender people.

That's it.

It's ugly to see the excuses being made for ageism, bigotry is bigotry. Any way you slice it.

I believe these are frequently rooted in a desire to hate somebody. The best I would offer is that they are sometimes rooted in mere ignorance, and thus cureable by education and enlightened understanding. But I think in many cases they are a reflection of the need to feel one-up on somebody, and thus have no real cure.

hate. Also, there is IMO an overlap of what they hate, often just desirous of a target to hate, or several. For many, it is the core of their lives, their essence in life, to practice and promote hatred. And, there is also big money in hatred, we are well aware of the MSM giants that love hatred. It makes good money for them and their shock-jocks. Ignorance well might play a role, but I think it goes far deeper. And, many religions make great profit over promoting hatred.

The question is, is it genetic or conditioned behavior. Probably a combination of both, but if one were predestined toward hatred, and it was latent, some of the MSM does a significant job of pulling them into the hatred circle and exercising that hatred for MSM profit. And, religions often do the same.

that they can feel superior to.

Their hate is more rooted in their own inferiority complex than in ignorance.

which is a deep fear and loathing of anything perceived as vaguely feminine.

All negative attributes are pushed off on the feminine: weakness, irrationality, out of control emotions (crying, mostly), fear, passivity, and the list goes on and on and on.

Any male who is attracted to other males is labeled effeminate. Any male who transitions to female is labeled even worse, a traitor who became part of the simpering enemy.

Ageism disproportionately hits women, who are considered over the hill by the manly men by the time they're over 25, 30 at the most, seen as becoming more masculine when they're only becoming more competent as they grow up. Old men are seen as womanish as their physical strength passes and the indignities and frustrations of age build up.

You really can't disentangle any of this stuff from the hatred of the feminine, no matter how hard you try and how many dictionary definitions you post. The weird masculinity construct that too many men fall for and its desperate need to be anything but the despised "other" is to blame.

I mean if you really want to get to the kernel of it. That fear is stoked constantly and fanned into flames of hatred and anger.

ignorance ~ lack of knowledge or information.

fear ~ an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.

hate ~ (noun) intense or passionate dislike. (verb) feel intense or passionate dislike for (someone).

Who knows?

there's a sense of entitlement behind a lot of it too. And some people just like to have someone to kick around.

Though outright hatred is also part of it, let's not forget. We have groups like the KKK, Aryan Nations, the JDL, the NBPP, the Nation of Islam, etc., to deal with, that deal in that kinda thing.
