A Sword Beats a Pistol

I came home from lunch today to the sound of someone rooting through my house. My cats were hiding under the bed. I went to the rack and pulled my schiavona out. (All the guns were locked away, ammunition separate from the weapons.) I came on the burglar, in the spare bedroom. He was intent on going through things and had a pistol in his belt.

I came silently on him, touched the back of his neck with the sword's point and said, "Suppose you tell me why I don't cut your blerrie head off." He pissed himself and collapsed in fear. I called the police and the burglar was taken away. He, a juvie on parole, will be going back to a cell.

IMHO an AR-15 would have been totally inappropriate.

Good on you.
