GOP trashes top military leaders' unanimous decision on Bergdahl. See Joint Chief Chair's Statement:

"In response to those of you interested in my personal judgments about the recovery of SGT Bowe Bergdahl, the questions about this particular soldier’s conduct are separate from our effort to recover ANY U.S. service member in enemy captivity. This was likely the last, best opportunity to free him. As for the circumstances of his capture, when he is able to provide them, we'll learn the facts. Like any American, he is innocent until proven guilty. Our Army's leaders will not look away from misconduct if it occurred. In the meantime, we will continue to care for him and his family. Finally, I want to thank those who for almost five years worked to find him, prepared to rescue him, and ultimately put themselves at risk to recover him."

- General Martin Dempsey, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff

What the sickening, disgusting, GOP PIGS are doing on this is just that: DISGUSTING.

They are rotten to the very core. In fact, Bergdahl's father is a REGISTERED REPUBLICAN. These rotten scum have sunk to an all time low, and they will pay at the polls for it, make no mistake. Dems need to unite in solidarity on this, stand by the President and his Joint Chiefs, and BASH the CRAP out of the scumbag GOP. They are rotten to the very core.

If the GOPigs say it's a scandal, then the media will hype it as a scandal, and a certain percentage of Americans will start to think of it as a scandal.

If the media decides there is nothing hypocritical or disgusting to report on in the GOP's behavior (and admit it, when DOES the media find anything hypocritical or disgusting in their behavior?) then they will not say anything, and how will the average American respond.

It's brainwashing, pure and simple, and for the vast majority of citizens who can not or will not take the time to inform themselves, what the media says is how they are supposed to feel about it.

I'm appalled that many supposedly reputable organizations ask their web page viewers to "Like Us". How demeaning it must be to ask real people to forfeit their privacy for an additional +1 in some meaningless marketing campaign.

All media outlets rush to stick a microphone in the hands of the nearest Republican. First impressions are vital so they are more than willing to jump at the chance.

Then someone decides it is time to fact check things -- as the media should have done in the first place. Then we learn that the preponderance of the early reports are false but this gets scant coverage. But this time the consequences are more dire because Bergdahl's parents have received a number of death threats and security had to be provided to the family for their safety.

In the latest onslaught Sen. Saxby Chambliss is saying that reports that Bergdahl was tortured and put into a cage is dismissed as false. What does Chambliss base this on? The film of the release where they don't see signs of torture. Hardly convincing. And remember that Bush pulled troops out of Afghanistan to fight in Iraq so things had gotten out of hand in Afghanistan and that was where things stood when Bergdahl left his post.

Oh, and here is a link providing more data.

once the lying starts. It becomes a deep hole and the liars just keep on digging. liars depend on all others to be honest. One of the tactics lawyers use in cross examination is to get the witness to agree to a plausible lie. Once the witness agrees to the lie it's game, set, match.
Liars forget rule one: When in a hole, stop digging.

sometimes democrats and republicans worked together to come up with solutions. Today, I view the republican party as a bunch of obstructionists and really angry, hateful, wacky and selfish people collected under one tent, a sea of negativity trying to bring humanity down.

Whenever anyone hears something from the republican party it is consistently about tearing someone down, denying civil rights, trying to deprive someone of something, persecute someone/group ... it's endless.

On Morning Joe this morning Mika said BOTH Democrats (she said "some Democrats) and Republicans were against Sgt. Bergdahls's release. No one challenged her statement. But then, we have the likes of Sen. Diane Feinstein who lends some credence to Mika's claim. Overwhelmingly, it is the Republican hate mongers who are against his release, but the few Democrats are giving these Republicans cover.

I am truly disgusted by the ugly, hateful mob that has claimed self-righteous hate as the truest of all American "values." This mob has been nurtured and emboldened by the "stupid is good" example set by Bush II. Let's do our best to defeat them in November.

43. General Mattis (USMC), too...

Jun 2014
http://www.marinecorpstimes.com/article/20140609/NEWS/306090040/Mattis-Bergdahl-release-makes-Taliban-vulnerable

But Mattis countered that U.S. troops can make sure the released Taliban leaders don’t live too long if they return to the fight.

“If they were real men, they would have gone down fighting,” he said. “So, they’re not that tough. ... And we are quite capable, the ferocity and the skill of our troops when we close in on an enemy, these guys will not be that difficult to take out.”

While his son was in enemy hands, Bergdahl’s father grew a long beard as part of his efforts to understand Pashto culture, prompting critics in the U.S. to accuse him of trying to look like a Taliban fighter. Mattis said such attacks are unfounded.

“I think most of us got over judging people by the length of their hair by about 1975 in this country,” Mattis said.

And, of course, the Rs are clinging to Gen. "My god is bigger than their god" Boykin's reliably fearful assessment, rather than that of the Marine CENTCOM commander who's been toe to toe with the Taliban. And that beard only belongs on patriotic Americans like the duckdiddlers. Yeah.

Tue Jun 10, 2014, 03:11 PM
Jun 2014

Enlisted, completed basic training and deployed with his unit overseas. He SERVED his country, participating in a very difficult war serving under very difficult circumstances. He routinely went out on patrols with his unit and risked his life 24/7. What ever circumstance led to his decision to walk away, Bergdahl ultimately was capture and held as a POW for five years. Bergdahl still has done more in serving his country than the sanctimonious sofa soldiers who run off at the mouth. They are not morally qualified to pass judgment. Only Bergdahl's peers are qualified to do judge him and through proper military investigation.
