(51,367 posts)"greed and indifference" is what is stopping us from addressing climate change. That is indeed a moral struggle.
I have completely lost patience with climate change deniers. They are literally killing the planet. And our children... and grandchildren.

(50,983 posts)government would invest as much on renewable energy development as it did for just one of the wasteful, cruel, unjustified, counterproductive wars.

(50,983 posts)But the forces of evil® are in near complete control of the nation and media. We simply can no longer have what a majority of Americans want or need. Let alone consider the needs of the planet or wildlife habitat.
Renewable energy would be a better idea even if global warming was a hoax.

(13,324 posts)Their overall yearly total is more modest - 27 percent - but that's still double ours. No reason to think, if we can spare the money to build the infrastructure, that we can't eventually get the majority of our energy from "alternative" sources.

(13,685 posts)To do anything of substance to correct global warming means our lifestyle would significantly change.
Do nothing and we can just go on living this way.
The easy way out is to do nothing and continue to live this way.

(426 posts)dealt entirely with climate change. And Tyson very neatly dealt with all the excuses like how do we know it's us and not a natural change or what if it's just the sun. The facts don't bear out any of the excuses for ignoring it. That's why climate deniers are so pissed with Tyson, he has facts on his side.
We all need to do the same thing he's doing; throw the facts in their face, over and over. Refuse to let them dominate the argument with ignorance. I also love the way he points out how the human race in the past has triumphed by fighting for change, like when we moved from hunter/gatherer to agriculture. Make the climate change deniers look like the Neanderthals they really are.
