A religious person telling his religious son to obey his conscience (which religious people believe is "God's Whisper" is bad ... But Pharmacists obeying their conscience, by refusing to fill B/C and otherwise lawful prescriptions, is absolutely to be unquestioned?
Boy ... How some twist themselves into political knots just to play at politics.

For example, I work at a library and when a person wants me to assist them in finding pro-life materials or conservative materials, I can't say, "Nope. I don't believe in that so you need to go somewhere else". I smile and say, "Do you have an idea of what you want? Specific questions or thoughts? Would you like to begin with a specific word?" and do the job I was hired to do. I don't understand people who believe that they can bring in their person beliefs into the job. That is DEFINITELY not a job requirement.

(14,733 posts)In my books, you should lose your license if you refuse to perform all legal duties the position requires for any reason other than you feel you're incapable of doing so safely. (ie, I wouldn't expect a GP to perform heart surgery, even though both a GP and a heart surgeon are licensed MDs.)

Joe is in bad company. He was trying to smooth it over, but he had a screaming rant Friday morning on the show...
