email from Senator Ron Wyden

Dear _____

Last week, I sent you a petition calling on Congress to pass tough reforms that will stop NSA mass surveillance.

It’s not too late to sign. Add your name today and join the fight!

The message is simple: liberty and security aren’t mutually exclusive. We can have both, and we should demand nothing less.

This fight isn’t about getting in the way of the NSA or important security measures that interrupt real threats to the country. A safer, stronger America is in all of our interests.

But warrantless searches? Suspicionless surveillance? How about massive data collections that scoop up information on innocent Americans? Or even a backdoor policy that allows the NSA to read your emails without a warrant?

That’s going too far, and according to experts in the field may not even be enhancing security at all.

If you haven’t already signed on, be sure to add your voice and join me in telling Congress it’s time to take action.

We can do this!

Ron Wyden
