Not voting or voting 3rd party is a good strategy for electing a Repub & I know you don't want that. AnotherMother4Peace Jun 2014 #8
explain to me how a third party vote in illinois contributes to a republican being elected. Shoulders of Giants Jun 2014 #9

I'm with you on that. I might have a fav, but will support the nominee. The alternative is unthinkable.

I expect it to be Hillary Clinton. I live in Illinois, and my vote doesn't matter, so I might as well vote for someone I support. If I were in a swing state, then I'd vote for her. I know this is a democratic site, and won't campaign for a third party here. However, I don't get the point of "strategic voting" when my vote doesn't even matter.

But I will vote for the nominee, for me, my parents and my kids. We're all better off with a Democrat rather than the alternative.

But even if the person who does get the nod isn't my preferred candidate they will be a million years better than inflicting the damage of 4 or possibly 8 years of a tea party/Republican candidate.

It's really strange, but all of my GOTV car-poolers aren't interested in November, and I'm more and more frustrated. Doesn't anyone remember 2010?
