(41 posts)Yet, I'm seeing people on the left saying that this is a bad thing. The number 2, and I do mean number 2, guy in the GOP leadership just got knocked off by somebody even crazier than Cantor and in their own party. The GOP is in crisis mode right now, you can bet that the lights are still on at GOP party headquarters. They didn't see this coming.

(2,522 posts)I'm not a big fan of the idea that things have to get worse before they get better.

(41 posts)A Dem running against Cantor with NO chance or a Dem running against Brat with a better chance? At the end of the day Cantor is off Capitol Hill.

(38,187 posts)What will be even worse is if we end up stuck with a Tea Party president down the road. I don't like that idea one bit.

(95,337 posts)but the district is gerrymandered pretty safe for the GOP. We just replaced him with someone even crazier

(41 posts)Cantor's home is in Henrico county.

(95,337 posts)it's like 57% GOP in that entire district.
The only way feasible for the democrat to win is if the Tea Party shows us that he really is batshit crazy by making some very offensive comments.

(8,954 posts)And with 5 months to go, he'll probably come up with at least one whopper per week.
I'm not ready to donate to the dem candidate though. It's a major uphill battle and money for me is limited. I would rather donate to someone who has a good chance of beating the incumbent republican like getting Tom Corbett out of the governor house in Pennsylvania

(65,616 posts)of the fundamentalists in the GOP. Could be nervous laughter, Teabaggers are extremely costly to the country.

(10,260 posts)And it's going to CONTINUE to be a crisis of their own making until the REPUBLICAN party decides to stick the "Think Tank" that passed for the Bush Administration in front of a Congressional WarCrimes Inquiry...
Which will never happen (they aren't anywhere NEAR smart enough to stitch shut their own wound that way..more power to us, I guess lol)...
As for Mr. Cantor, all I can say is I hate that smarmy bastard; I couldn't stand that nasty little, self-serving, backstabbing viper, and if Mr. Speaker has any sense whatsoever, he will be glad to be rid of that fucking rattlesnake.

(1,415 posts)That's cool and all that Cantor lost.. i am as happy as anyone!.. but we need to get ready for the real battle and that will be for the Senate... I have a sinking feeling we may lose based on some of these screwy polls I have seen lately.. i know we like to say they are right wing polls etc .. but if they take the Senate we are really screwed and it is a long time until 2016.. they will crash the country along with even far right nuttiness of the Tea Party.. these nuts just keep getting elected.. be careful what we wish for.. this dude is in a very red district.. i hope the Dem can win....just my .02...so we now need to GOTV more than ever before..

(168 posts)Every presidential cycle 5,000,000 minority kids turn 18(voting age) and 2,000,000 million angry old white republicans die of old age or evilness. Turn out the lights g.o.p. the party is over!
