Voting.
I was taught at a young age that I had certain responsibilities as a citizen of the U.S. The most important being voting. I was taught to look at each candidate, to see what their positions were, and to decide which candidate I thought would best serve me and the country.
I was never taught that I should vote for a candidate I didn't like because the one I do like "could never win". I was never told that if I didn't vote for the "right" candidate I shouldn't be allowed to "complain". I was never told that I had to vote for this party or that party or to ignore this person or that person. I was taught to gather information and make an informed decision about what the right course of action I believe is.
I still follow the things my dad taught me about thinking for myself and doing what I believe is right. I also remember the most important thing my dad ever taught me... the TV lies(were he alive today he would include the internet). Sorry, I'm not going to be sold a candidate the way I'm sold fucking Tacos on TV. I'll do my own research, and decide for myself.
You want to kick me out of your little playground for that? Be my guest.
