it was actually quite fun, and she was quite comfortable here at home.
she was interviewed by rahm, and they had a lot of fun with each other.
she had some great stories, which are in the book of course.
i am looking forward to reading it. she said felt she owed it to history to document just what a mess they inherited, and what they did to fix it.
fun story about the climate conference meeting crash, a story i remember from the time. but the inside scoop is delicious.
i really want both hillary and bernie.
it will be a debate that might just help right this sinking ship.

i think he is doing a good job as mayor, and is the subject of the same sort of distortions as obama.
i have gotten to see him speak quite a few times, my alderman works closely with him. and he is a true blue good guy.
he is funny, and he likes kids. he was a loved child, and had a pretty idilic upbringing. i just bring that up in that i find myself using that as a bit of shorthand for who i think might be working with a lot of trauma, and that might explain some sorts of personality problems that might be what is causing his combativeness. i mean, just someone with a glitch that makes them as mean and nasty as some say he is. but i dont see that in him, and i dont see anything that evidences that in him.
i do put a lot of store by how people act around kids. he is one of those people who lights up around them. and he has great humor, as does she, about the mania that they went through. they were too vets showing off their scars.

i think he is a good fit for this city.

(135,425 posts)I notice a lot of the people who agitate against him don't even live in the city he administers. Funny, that.

Did she talk about her foundation (Clinton Foundation) and what she'll be doing in the future besides promoting her book?
mopinko
(70,088 posts)the big story that she wanted to tell was about her mother, and the kind of life she had, and her memories of chicago.
her mom's story was pretty brutal, including being dumped on grandparents via a cross country train trip, a 5 yo and 7 yo.
her dad had an office in the merchandise mart. he told her there was a dragon in the river, so she wouldnt hang out the open window.
rahm mentioned that the top 5 floors were now a big tech incubator. he is just such a fucker.
and i guess she basted putin in the book, and again in person.

(70,088 posts)she talked about the clinton foundation, and their work with poor children, and children's literacy.
she talked about the word gap, the dif between how many words upper class kids hear by kindergarten, and the number poor kids here. i dont remember the numbers, but they were jaw dropping.
so, they have a program to encourage parent, grandparents and siblings to read, talk and sing with children.
i mean, this is almost free, but it could bring stunning leaps for poor children.
i would like to see that kind of smart, heart driven policies.
