Hack Fuckie Todd was very quick on the immigration - jumped out early last night.
Wasn't he at the WH Correspondents' Dinner with Cantor?

Immigration, Dems voting in an open primary... all probably played small roles. I think his constituents just didn't like him. This wasn't votes FOR Brat.... this was votes AGAINST Cantor. I wonder if the voters will like Brat when they get to know him...

Because He’s a Dick:

...Because he didn’t have to worry too much about getting re-elected every two years, his political ambition was channeled into rising through the hierarchy of the House leadership. Rise he did, all the way up to the #2 spot, and he was waiting in the wings to become Speaker of the House.

The result was that Cantor’s real constituency wasn’t the folks back home. His constituency was the Republican leadership and the Republican establishment. That’s who he really answered to.

It's almost enough to restore your faith in Raw Story!

As Rachel reported, the polls show that most people disapproved of the job he was doing (not the same as disliking him, which many of them probably do).

Surely quite a few of them were adversely affected by Cantor's role in the govt shutdown. Much of VA benefits from govt contracts, and there is a ripple effect with small businesses when there is so much uncertainty.

or maybe, less than something to cheer about. We need to GOTV because even though we may want to shrug this Brat win off as just the loonies eating their own it may equate to a more energized right come November.

... are just tired of a totally dysfunctional congress. Time was, most people hated congress but liked their congressperson. Now almost everyone hates congress and maybe folks are figuring out that their guy IS in fact part of the problem and what do they have to lose. You could replace congress with a herd of cows and get almost as much useful work done.

Nothing would make me happier than to see a serious anti-incumbent movement. We just need to send almost all of these useless people home.
