(25,241 posts)Saddam might not have been a nice person - but he ruled Iraq with an iron fist and if he still were in control today - this would not be happening.
All for oil..... this is sad.
I just hope that the President doesn't take the bait.

(60,010 posts)destabilize the government, destroy the necessary infrastructure like roads, water, hospitals, power, and then leave. Count to 10 and act surprised when a bunch of guys, using OUR discarded weapons, start fights for power.
Iraq, Afghanistan, even part of Pakistan.....the beat goes on.

(85,986 posts). . . what they don't have is a government prepared to do what it takes to accommodate their Sunni minority. Half of their army is Sunni and they've refused to fight the Sunni ISIS rebels.
