Are we replenishing the troops?
Given the treatment the GI's have been getting with respect to multiple redeployments and the poor follow-up they get when they get back with respect to health care. How many have lost their lives, become handicapped both physically and mentally after they return. Who still wants to join up?

(146,192 posts)When I left in 1969, as an E-4, it was up to a whopping $256. Now that's money, right there! I can't believe I didn't re-up.

However, it did offer some some things that are actually useful. How to enunciate profanity properly. How to avoid work. And, Never, ever, volunteer.

(146,192 posts)They sent me to a total immersion Russian language school for 9 months and then to Turkey, right on the Black Sea coast. I didn't learn any of the things you mentioned.
I guess enlisting was a good idea, somehow.
