Harrison Ford airlifted to hospital from set of Star Wars after ‘breaking ankle and suffering chest

Harrison Ford was airlifted to hospital today after injuring himself on the set of the latest Star Wars film.

The actor, 71, was filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire when a hydraulic garage door fell and hit him.

Ford – who is reprising his role as the buccaneering Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII – was treated by medics after he fell to the ground and was stretchered onto a helicopter.

The air ambulance took him to the John Radcliffe hospital in Oxford, which has a trauma unit that specialises in fractures.

But it seems a bit unfair to characterize "a hydraulic garage door fell and hit him" as "injuring himself." Unless, of course, he pulled the thing down on top of himself.

He saw his opening and he went for it. Or, as he probably said, "Waaauuuugggghhhhhhhh!"

Sarah George, 20, and Megan Freeman, 22, were on a five-hour climb of 11,106-foot Table Mountain on July 31 when heat, altitude and dehydration left George sick and unable to take more than a couple steps. After another hiker called for help on a cell phone, Air Force One star Ford took to the air.

...

“He was wearing a T-shirt and a cowboy hat,” said George. “He didn’t look like I’d ever seen him before.”

The ailing George vomited into the hat with about a minute to go before landing at Jackson’s St. John’s Hospital.

“I can’t believe I barfed in Harrison Ford’s helicopter,” she said.

I really want that on my headstone (even though I am getting cremated). I know- my obituary.

I can't wait to see him as Han Solo again. It's definitely one of his best roles.
