The Ontario elections should be a lesson to the all-or-nothing crowd.

Tonights elections in Ontario were brought about by the New Democratic Party's (NDP) decision to bring down the current Liberal minority government by opposing a budget that had most, but not all of what the NDP wanted. Now, the Liberals have a majority and the NDP has no voice at all for the next few years. Please, everyone, take that as a lesson.

except the Liberals had to quickly scoot far to the left to get elected. That and the guy on the right was so scary (he promised to slash many public sector jobs) people went with the party they thought would defeat him but make no mistake, many of them want those leftist policies and will be just as quick to decimate the Liberal party in the next election if they renege on all of their promises.

Plus, voters in Canada have a history of punishing those parties that force elections just because they get tired of election after election in consecutive minority government situations, not because they don't agree with them. I think your analysis is a bit simplistic.
