LOTS more of our fellow travelers are packing for the airport, so to speak. So far this year (as of the end of last week), the Transportation Security Administration has found 892 guns in passengers carry-on bags at security checkpoints. Thats a 19 percent increase from the comparable period of last year, when the total was 750 guns.
The 2013 gun-tote tally was a record, at 1,813 firearms found, incidentally. As this years gun haul keeps rolling along, a one-day record was set just last Wednesday, when screeners found 18 guns, which beat the previous one-day record of 13 guns on May 20, 2013. About 80 percent of all guns found are loaded.

you just forgot you had the item(s) in your carry on baggage, right?
rocktivity
(44,572 posts)4. Well, no
because they aren't supposed to be in your carry-on baggage in the first place!

(48,121 posts)6. Over 400,000,000 flights per year and only 892 guns found?
It's a crisis I say!
