It used to be that all Americans, regardless of political ideology, wanted our prisoners of war to be brought back home. Due to Obama Derangement Syndrome, that is no longer the case.Courtesy: Bill Day

(14,255 posts)maybe there should be a new phrase, though, since ODS is slapped on anyone who criticizes anything Obama does, ever or, indeed, fails to praise.
The phase has been cheapened.

(47,803 posts)Basically, Faux News and their compatriots on the right hate anything that is even mildly "liberal." And in their definition, liberal is anything remotely to the left of, the right side of the spectrum. So the center is fair game too.
That would include anything Democratic -- with the exception of Pseudo Democrats like Lieberman or Pat Caddell.
They've pulled the goalposts so far that now, even Eric Kantor is "too liberal" and must be crucified.

(127,254 posts)and it exists on both the right and the left... because his black face causes all sorts of head explosions among those who agreed to agree about the power structure, hierarchy, and "the way things have always been", and AAs don't belong and need not apply.

(26,568 posts)but I do believe racism is at the very core of the Republican/Tea party and has been for a long time. Racism is at the very core of American history, and certain oligarchs are using racism as the tool to bring down the president and the entire Democratic party. There is an obvious distinction between honest disagreement with policy and insane, irrational attacks on the president, his family and the entire Democratic party.

(22,271 posts)and there seems to be no such distinction. I've seen people who disagree with Hillary's corporate-friendly positions being accused of misogyny and I've seen people who disagree with Obama's position labeled as racist and that's a fact. What some see as "irrational attacks," others see as honest disagreement.

(26,568 posts)If we can't agree that the hatred spewed at the soldier, his family (and the president for doing his job) is a result of deep seated, irrational hatred of the president, we can't agree on anything.

(25,111 posts)And I already know that GOPers have it bad. A co-worker here in California hates anything Democratic Party. She hates with a passion Pres O and Gov. Brown and calls them both idiots and that they are truly ending the world as we know it.

(127,254 posts)did I say "anyone disagreeing with Obama's policies"?
Seems there's a group around here that enjoys throwing themselves on the sword when one calls out the racism hurled against the President from all sides. Based on the knee-jerk responses, it makes one wonder why the loud squeals of outrage when this is being pointed out? You expose yourself as suspect at this point.
Recommend that you stick to your day job.

(53,661 posts)McCain, who directly worked with the 'enemy' to get better conditions, has a lot of nerve going after Obama for anything!
He's still not gotten over losing to Obama yet, as he rightfully should have lost. None of them have!
In 2008, THE BEST MAN FOR THE JOB WON.
EOM.
Obama is still the best President of my lifetime, bar none, absolutely. He's been a gift to this nation and the world.
