Manhunt Ends For ‘Sovereign Citizen,’ Arrested for Oregon Woman’s Murder

A 61-year-old man described as an anti-government survivalist was the subject of a nationwide manhunt after a four day search ended when a woman’s body was discovered in or near an underground bunker he built at his Oregon home in anticipation of a government collapse. The suspect, also described as a ‘sovereign citizen’, had video cameras mounted in several locations around his house and there were bars on the windows.

Lewis, who reportedly stocked his underground bunker with water and food, fearing an imminent collapse of government, was scheduled for a first appearance today in Multnomah County Superior Court.
