'Word' from Robert Reich's dad...

Found on FB...

Robert Reich

I'm here in Florida visiting my father, Ed Reich, who, at the young age of 100 and a half, just came up with one of the most incisive assessments I've heard of what's happened in Iraq: "George W. Bush and the crooks he hired are responsible for this. If they hadn't lied to the American people about weapons of mass destruction we wouldn't have lost nearly 5,000 American lives and god knows how many Iraqi lives, and stirred up this hornet's nest. Obama has spent his entire administration cleaning up Bush's shit, like someone with a giant pooper scooper." Dad has lived during the administrations of 17 presidents. "Bush was the worst," he says. "Reagan the second worst."

Your gig is up - go elsewhere and quit preying on innocent people. This has SCAM written all over it.

to pretend that Obama has been 'cleaning it up' is beyond misleading.

The "Wars on Terror" gave us the Patriot Act, Homeland Security, NSA mass spying on Americans, secret laws, secret courts, the murder of due process and multiple Constitutional amendments, and the war on journalism, whistleblowers, and dissent.

Obama declined to punish the perpetrators and has been complicit in defending and vigorously extending all of these.

And Iran tried to help by getting Bin Laden before Iraq. Obama can return to this place, and set up peace talks in the northern Middle East. Atroscities cause by Bush are still occurring, which adds up to, there is no way this is Obama's fault. The World is still compling the list to Bush's Watch. Let Obama and the peace talks procede, which may be part of keeping the elected govrenment in tack in Baghdad.

That's EXACTLY how it went, and EXACTLY what happened. This dad oughta know, with a frame of time-reference like that. I can remember back as far as Kennedy. I was an Eisenhower baby but way too young to remember much of that at all, except there'd be news stories about some old dude who used to be somebody who kept having heart attacks. But I was a KID. Just completely unaware with no context or anything. Too young to remember anything besides what Mom fixed me for breakfast. Had no idea who or what Ike was til I studied about him later. And I don't remember a LOT about Kennedy either, except how he brought a new youth to the White House after the Grandpa/Grandma era in there had ended. THIS new President had kids who not only lived in the White House but were LITTLE kids, kinda like me. And their mom had brown (not gray) hair and no wrinkles and was young and fashionable and smart-looking like my mom was. I could relate to that, personally. And I did. I now have lived during the administrations of 11 presidents, and remember 10 of them.

Our elders sometimes have eyesight (and memory) that fades. THIS dad still sees (and remembers) things VERY clearly.

Wasn't Bush's evidence the same thing that led President Clinton to also condemn Iraq and Saddam? Didn't Hillary vote for military action after receiving the same intel? Wasn't it Saddam who lied and covered up in part to avoid looking weak to the Iranians? Iraq lost the Persian Gulf war and wasn't abiding by any of the stipulations in the agreement they made General Schwartzkopf? I'm sincerely wondering here.

46. But...
Sun Jun 15, 2014, 09:13 PM
Jun 2014

We know now that Saddam Hussein was doing a lot of bluffing and obfuscating when it came to possible WMD in order to keep the Iranians from sensing weakness. After September 11 the US had to take threats more seriously than before. The Iraqi military had been targeting US and Allied flights that were enforcing the no fly zone from the Persian Gulf War. Also Hussein was fomenting terrorism by doing things like paying families of suicide bombers that targeted Israelis. Of course the Strategic interest of the US relates to oil as our economy depends heavily on oil as a component of our energy costs. These energy costs relate directly to GDP growth which in turn impacts lives all over our country..

Are you claiming Iraq didn't destroy their WMD chemical stock? Bush's "evidence" related, among other things, to Iraq developing nuclear weapons and long range missiles. Bush's "evidence", in part, related to Al Qaeda presence in Iraq. Etc. All false.

In short, not the same as Bill Clinton.

Hillary voted based on the Intel that filtered through the Bush administration, not the raw data.

I too am wondering here.

That Iraq did in fact do so is an important part of any discussion of the Bush administration's misleading the world into invading Iraq. The same applies to an atomic weapons program and long range delivery systems.

The misinformation about them, creating a fiction wherein they existed, trace back to the Bush administration. It sounded like you don't agree with that.
