Absolutely Nothing

snip//

You sons of bitches one and all, you simpering capering madmen, this time at least have the courage to face the cameras, to look into America’s eyes, and tell them that their sons and daughters will be dying because you John McCain, because you Mitt Romney, because you Dick Cheney, because you Donald Rumsfeld, because you George W. Bush you lying bastard, because you conservatives hate Barack Obama and for no other reason. Go on, tell us, go on. Wave your little flags and beat your fleshy chests, roll out the marching bands and tell us just how many more American soldiers should die. Go on, put a number on it. Ten? A hundred? Fifty four thousand? How many of us have to die? How many more bodies will it take to satiate your mindless hunger for blood and revenge? How many more American lives are worth your insane hatred of the president? How many? How much further into debt should we drive our nation, another trillion dollars? Two? Ten? A hundred? Put a price on it you insane sons of bitches, go on, give me a number, write me a check. Tell me how much you’re willing to pay, show me the goddamned money. How many more years? How many? One? Five? Another decade? Fifty? What is it? Don’t wave your hands and make some vague prognostication, give me a number, how many lives, how much money, how many years? You look us in the eye and you fucking tell us.

I’ll tell you what, let’s go back to Iraq.

Oh, yes, let us do that.

I’ll dig out my uniform and strap on my pistol and gird up my sword and ride into battle yet again.

Just so long as Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, George W. Bush, Rush Limbaugh, Anne Coulter, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage, Paul Ryan, Sarah Palin, Rick Perry, and every single one of those powdered, Botoxed talking heads at Fox News are in the vanguard. That’s right, you cowards, you put on a uniform and you lead the charge this time around. The Koch brothers and Mitt Romney can pay for it, every goddamned penny, we’ll bleed them until they’re dry and then we’ll pull the gold fillings from their teeth to pay for it right along with the rest of their Wall Street cronies. You fuckers got rich off the last one, you can damned well pay for this one. And when you run out of money, we’ll take your blood, fair’s fair.

Strap John McCain into the cockpit of an A-4 Skyhawk and let him fly air cover.

If he gets himself shot down and taken prisoner again, well, you know what? Fuck him, leave him to the enemy because frankly his hate and bile and raging insanity have done more damage to this country than Bowe Bergdahl ever did.

The terrorists can keep him.

Peace love and understanding tell me
Is there no place for them today
They say we must fight to keep our freedom
But Lord knows there's got to be a better way

I'd want them to suit up and ship out, too. They're members of the "YOU FIRST!!!" Club. About time THEY had skin in the game, too. Skin like their own. And dear mitt - he's got not one, not two, not three, not four, but FIVE - count 'em - FIVE tall, healthy, strapping young sons who've never served either. How 'bout THEM suiting up and shipping out as well. Especially that one kid who wanted to punch Barack Obama out to settle some score after one of the debates. Sounds like he's got some fight in him, 'eh? Let's see that fire 'n' brimstone put to good use then!

YOU FIRST, you lazy, pompous, powdered, pampered, pansy-ass chickenhawk assholes! YOU FIRST!!!! I nominate bill kristol to head things up! Infantry. Chief grunt ON THE GROUND, IN THE HOT ZONE. Not back in Centcom hundreds of miles away in Saudi Arabia or someplace safe, either. Smack dab in the middle of all the ACTION!!! See how he likes it! Then, at least he'll be able to speak as an informed pundit, with hard experience to back up what he pontificates now - as a know-NOTHING.

Thanks for the OP/share.

However, it does bring up one painful incident from my own post a year or so ago. I called a receptionist at a Big Pharma company a 'lying little bitch' for telling me something about ObamaCare she knew to be false. And every one of my friends jumped me for using that one word 'bitch' when it's flung around with such impunity by most others. Is it only okay for others, especially men, to say it and for women to repeat their words? Sorry I have to point out such a glaring inconsistency but it continues and yes, it still stings to be singled out for what is deemed laudatory in others.

Dissecting Romney’s Vietnam Stance at Stanford
By MICHAEL WINES
Published: September 11, 2012

...

On his own for the first time, Mr. Romney finished his freshman year as he began it: conventionally patriotic and faithful to the traditional values of the time. “He was loyal to his family beliefs, his church beliefs and his country’s beliefs without trying, really, to understand what qualifications they had,” said Karl Drake, another Rinconada freshman and an antiwar activist who sometimes clashed with Mr. Romney.

It is unclear whether Mr. Romney’s hawkish Vietnam stance in 1966, when he was 18 years old and first exposed to the larger world, presaged his hawkish foreign policy stance as a presidential candidate in 2012, in which he has promised more confrontational approaches toward China, Iran and Russia than those adopted by President Obama. But just as Mr. Romney’s views on some other issues evolved over the years, his public assessments of the Vietnam War shifted markedly.

His pro-war sympathies at Stanford changed four years later, when he recanted and called the war a mistake. After saying in an interview during his failed bid to unseat Senator Edward M. Kennedy of Massachusetts in 1994 that he had no interest in military service as a youth, Mr. Romney said in 2007 during his first run for the Republican presidential nomination that he had sometimes longed to join the troops in Vietnam.

At Stanford, Mr. Romney was exempt from the draft, holding the 2-S student deferment then given to most undergraduates. He kept it but one year; like his older brother, Scott, Mr. Romney left Stanford early to serve for 30 months as a missionary abroad, as is customary for devout Mormon men.

Anybody that is anxious to go to war, better get in uniform and head off to it. The Koch brothers are too old, but their fossilized asses can pay for it. If any of the politicians are too old, send their sons and daughters, grandsons and granddaughters to the front line.

This 20 year old boy would still be alive today, probably with his family in the states, if it weren't for these war mongerging sons of bitches. This fathers day will NEVER be forgetten. It's so damn sad. I am a very good friend of the grandparent of the child. May these lying f*ckers all rot in hell.

... probably circa 1970. Two old guys duking it out while the voiceover talks about how unjust it is that the young fight the old man's war. Looked for it on YT, but no joy.

But Edwin Starr was wrong. War is good for lots of things -- so long as you're the one profiting from it. Not so much if you're the one fighting it.
