But soft. This tournament continues to surprise. Hell, England may even beat Italy in the sweltering heat and humidity of Manaus! Buffon's out.

In the soccer/football forum, I confidently predicted Uruguay and England to advance out of the group and dismissed Costa Rica as complete no-hopers. I predicted Holland to be eliminated at the group stage as well.

US fans, take heart! I predicted you didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell to get out of your group either. So cheer up!

mighty mice had no hope... in spite of terrible officiating on that game, they won... I swear, I have seen bad officiating, but that first half was hell. I am sure FIFA had a talk in the half time because it was not as obvious in the second half

The cynic in me suspects Mexico wasn't allowed a better goal difference than Brazil, especially after the bizarre calls in the opener.

To be fair, the off-side call for the first Mexican goal was wrong, but marginal. The second one was horrible. I'm glad they pulled it out in the end after all.

the first one, ok, mistakes happen, and it was marginal

By the third, people looked at the official before celebrating... almost daring him to annul it too.

If he keeps his cool he could be one of the stars of the tournament.
