http://globalgrind.com/2013/09/26/11-things-you-didnt-know-about-the-time-police-bombed-an-american-neighborhood-move-philadelphia-list/

On May 13, 1985, a bomb was dropped on a row house in Philadelphia, unleashing a relentless fire that eventually burned down 61 houses, killed 11 people (including five children) and injured dozens.
The fire department stood by idly. The Philadelphia Police Department did the same. The fire raged on, swallowing up home after home unitl more than 200 were without shelter in an entire community distrustful of the individuals responsible for the blaze.
It’s a shameful part of recent American history that’s somehow been buried under 28 years and other destructions that have fallen on the city of Philadelphia. But in the wake of Birdie Africa’s death this week, the only child to survive the bombing, GlobalGrind decided to take a trip back in time to explore what happened the day American bombed its own people.
Here are 15 things you should know about the MOVE Philadelphia bombing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MOVE

MOVE or the MOVE Organization is a Philadelphia-based black liberation group founded by John Africa. MOVE was described by CNN as "a loose-knit, mostly black group whose members all adopted the surname Africa, advocated a 'back-to-nature' lifestyle and preached against technology".[1] The group lived communally and frequently engaged in public demonstrations related to issues they deemed important.
Since their founding in 1972, MOVE has been in frequent conflict with the Philadelphia Police Department. A major incident occurred in 1978, when the police raided their Powelton Village home. This raid resulted in the imprisonment of nine group members, now known as the "MOVE 9."[2] After this, the group relocated farther west to a house at 6221 Osage Avenue.
In 1985 the group made national news when police dropped a bomb on the Osage house from a helicopter in an attempt to end an armed standoff. The explosion and ensuing fire killed 11 people, including five children and the group's leader, John Africa. Only two occupants survived—Ramona, an adult, and Birdie, a child. In addition, approximately 60 other (non MOVE-affiliated) homes were destroyed as the entire block burned

And the documentary covers all that pretty well but they did not deserve the beat down they got in a 1978 altercation with the police or ultimately what happened in to them in 1985.
There are some really good interviews with some of the citizens and they had a pretty good handle on both sides of this clash.. I felt. and yeah the city of Philadelphia decided that a black working class neighborhood was totally expendable to murder 3 or four unarmed women 3 unarmed men and six unarmed children.... or very close to those numbers.

Sun Jun 15, 2014, 08:14 PM
Jun 2014

while their homemade (and useless) defense systems were ugly and brought neighborhood property values down. Since there is no law against being crazy, the rest was all instigated by pressure from the cops and city government.

People who tried to exit the house, leading the children to safety, were met with gunfire even when their hands were raised and the children visible. Jacked up cops with military hardware seem to be incapable of seeing past the barrels of their guns.

After the bomb was dropped and the fire started to spread to adjacent properties, the cops wouldn't allow the fire department to fight the fire. A whole neighborhood was completely gutted before cops noticed that there was no more gunfire and maybe some innocent folks were losing everything.

Yes, they were murderers. They belong in prison. Unfortunately,"leaders" will never be judged for their actions in this country, the oligarchs won't allow it.

There is absolutely no proof whatsoever that move had any working guns let alone were fireing at the police! Same thing in the 1978 altercation where that police officer was killed! It appears that it is quite possible that cop was shot by other cops in their shooting frenzy!! There were No working fire arms found on move premises in either the 78 incident nor the final stand in 1985!
