18 year olds registering to vote in Florida because of MMJ ballot initiative

I know this because my son and his friends have registered to vote in the November election. I told my son I was surprised and very proud of him. Yea yea, it would have been more "pure" if they registered out of pure civic-mindedness, but I'm quite sure his friends all registered as Democrats. My son is a good liberal Democrat, just like his papa.

Maybe there's hope for them young'uns yet

and they have success, begin to feel part of the process, it may just encourage further actions to help right more wrongs.

They are the ones inheriting our clusterfuck of the Earth.

4. Perhaps your son believes this is being civic minded, he would have good reason to think so.

I'm not sure about his friends, but my son, after he talked about the MMJ ballot, would say words to that effect. He knows it's important to vote.

It's truly a winning issue for us amongst the young, as well as other age brackets.

11. Yes, many young people voted for Obama because of his stance on cannabis

There is no way the right can make this one of their issues, so Democrats should seize it. I'm very surprised at the administration's stance.

and tell him we'd love it if he'd like to keep track of the issue for Florida in the drug policy forum here!

Adelson/GOP money to FL to stop the mmj amendment (which the population, when polled, overwhelmingly supports).

Legalized MJ in CO and WA is doing massive damage to drug cartels.

Teen marijuana use has not shown an increase in states with medical marijuana laws.

I hope this big money infusion and the lies law enforcement officers are spreading in the media make enough people angry enough that they will register to vote, talk about this issue with their friends, and vote in November!

And tell him and his friends to call his State's Senator to indicate support for the amendment to the house bill that would defund raids by the DEA on state-legal medical marijuana facilities.

This link is to the Marijuana Policy Project Page with a letter to sign and send to your Senator in support of defunding the DEA's raids on legal medical marijuana facilities.

More than half of the states in the U.S. now have medical marijuana provisions. It's time for the federal government to respond to the will of the voter regarding marijuana's legal status...and it's time for states to listen to their citizens regarding this issue.

The House of Representatives has a bill to decriminalize marijuana at the federal level, as well. H.R. 499. I hope your son and his friends will call their Representatives to tell them to remove cannabis from the control of the DEA.

...which led to one major Democratic donor calling for her to be removed as chair of the Democratic National Committee. That guy said he wouldn't give one more dime to the national Democratic Party while she's chair of their committee.

The drug warriors are surprised when those who want to end their century-long campaign to lock up (primarly African American) Americans for their preference for marijuana over pharmaceutical drugs, or over alcohol, in the case of recreational use, fight back.

THEY STARTED THIS WAR ON THE AMERICAN PEOPLE.

We are going to end it.
