How are folks thanking/remembering the fathers in their life?

I'm taking my Dad out to brunch. It's one of the few days he's not been in the hospital or transition care over the past few weeks, and he's excited to get out of the house. I have also have a small gift for him, and I'll see if he's up to watching a World Cup match. I always treat Father's Day the same as Mother's Day.

How are you celebrating Father's Day?

to tell him how much I love him. But, he is always remembered.

We are having family and friends over and we are are grilling and cooking for the dads that join us.

Later, I will go place new summer flowers on dad's grave and spend a little bit of time with him and the immediate family.

I hope you and your father have a wonderful day, BainsBane.

fantastic collection and I was allowed to read whatever struck my fancy no matter how "inappropriate" for children, no matter if it was a first edition. Poetry, history, belles lettres, art, politics, etc.

and one that has stayed with you your entire life, I suspect. What a nice thing to remember.

Dad was a little sick yesterday, and today he had to go out of town. So next week, I'm treating him to a belated Father's Day something, whatever he wants, probably a dinner.

I took my Mom out on the Saturday before Mother's day. Not only is it not so crowded, she prefers a different day anyway.

over to my parents' house in about an hour. We're taking him a card and gift and will spend time just sitting and talking - which is his favorite thing to do. We'll probably sit out on the front porch or on the back patio and enjoy the afternoon.

He's very very conservative and tries every which way to steer the conversation toward politics.

like I do every day. I'm in Minnesota and they're in California, still living on their own on their citrus and avocado farm. We'll chat about whatever comes up, like we always do, and I'll wish my Father a Happy Father's Day. It's all I can do from this distance, but it's a daily thing, and will continue to be, as long as they are alive.
