Romney: Hillary, Obama Have 'Repeatedly Underestimated' Threats To US

CAITLIN MACNEAL – JUNE 15, 2014, 10:21 AM EDT

Mitt Romney on Sunday slammed Hillary Clinton and the Obama administration's approach to foreign policy.

The former Massachusetts governor said on NBC's "Meet the Press" that most of the blame for the unrest in Iraq lies with the Iraqi government, but said that failed U.S. foreign policy contributed to the country's deterioration.

"The United States of America has long had the capacity to shape events and to influence events. But what you’ve seen from this administration, whether from Hillary Clinton, with the reset button to Russia — which, by the way, should have been called the repeat button — this administration from Secretary Clinton to President Obama has repeatedly underestimated the threats that are faced by America, has repeatedly underestimated our adversaries," he said. "Whether that’s Russia, or Assad, or ISIS, or al Qaeda itself, it has not taken the action necessary to prevent bad things from happening. It has not used our influence to protect our interests."

You could put three caraway seeds and Romney's heart in a flea's navel, and still have room enough for the importance properly attached to his opinions.

a bishop telling us what and when to do something. He froths at the mouth on MTP the same way he did after Benghazi. This nation is so very lucky we did not elect the bishop.

interests". What does that mean romney stealing resources from other countries

Romney is a loser, and his philosophy is the same as it was when he worked for Baine Capital

That the media even gives him or other losers like him the time of day is disgusting, which is why the MSM does NOT get my participation

did attack us, but that was small-scale. Assad isn't coming to get us. Putin doesn't dare attack us or a NATO country. This ISIS group seems intent on holding land in the Middle East, not in Florida or Oregon, so...Mittwit the Sore Loser can go suck it.

See the big danger for my admittedly somewhat poorly expressed take on that. It was triggered by a spokesman on CBS News saying that ISIS could "create a safe haven in Western Iraq from which they could launch attacks on the American homeland."

I am fed up with the endless fear mongering, and the word "homeland" sets me off. It makes me want to leap to my feet and sarcastically scream "Heil" something, with my arm raised and my middle finger extended.

I think those 5 sons of yours should sign up at the nearest recruiting station and get the situation in hand.

What has your family contributed to this country ? NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZILCH, 0, ZIP

You and your ilk are the faces for union busting, hostel corporate takeovers, free trade, offshoring, job losses, job demotions, falling wages, high taxes for the poor, low or non existent taxes for the rich, poisoning and polluting the environment, robbing and dismantling all social services, inequality, anti equal pay, deregulation, crossing the boundaries of Separation of Church and State, rigged elections, restricting voting rights, restricting women's rights, the rights of corporations over people.............

had on Richard Haas, Council on Foreign Relations, said what made most sense to me....

that 90 years or so ago the British and French formed and renamed the middle east into the countries they are now, and it has never worked. He said that what is happening is the reforming of natural old boundaries and the US should not interfere, except to help those countries such as Jordan and Kuwait who are happy living the way they are.....He said it was the President of Iraq's fault now for ignoring some factions of the country, particularly the Sunis....The Kurds already think they have their own country and want no part of Iraq's battles....

Haas said all this brilliantly, but I broke it down into backyard over the fence talk so I could understand it.

He opposing view was from a Bush diplomat from a Texas school who more or less wants boots on the ground to oppose the people who want to form their own counties into religious factions....

This happened in Europe - Yugoslavia into Serbia, Croatia & Albania. . They just couldn't live together in piece.
