or a travel channel.

He's a good-looking guy and could host something other than cooking onions.

I can't watch it anymore. Yet it got awards...

I guess it's me.

What happened to Turners' 24-hour news channel? Food, forensics, weeklong specials - there's nowhere to go for news . .

The lack of loaded language in a newscast is refreshing and their in depth stories are often very good.

Just don't expect them to say a good thing about Israel, ever.

Haiti two years after the earthquake, Saudi Arabia.

It might start out with food, but it goes places that need to be explored.

Here on weekends, the world could end and they wouldn't break into their sports coverage. I used to watch CNN to get at least national and international news on the weekends. Now we get programming - the 60s, Bourdain, Forensic Files in the middle of the night, etc.

Anthony Bourdain may be a perfectly nice person but he doesn't interest me and I find his shows annoying as programming. To show them in lieu of actual news coverage is absurd.

Thank goodness our TV carrier has added Al Jazeera - at least now I can get international news all the time.

He is not politically correct, he is honest and often very liberal in his views.

When he goes to a country in conflict it's like being there and understanding it better.

Said by some DUers, that he's hypocritical about his love for Mexican food preparers (the allegation goes: ) because he's cashing in on cheap labor.

But as most other posters have said above, he delivers loads of history/culture, not just "food".

What little I know (probably from Wiki) he is a Lib who avoided visiting Israel because he's non-sectarian and when he finally did the show he did it as a Mixed thing.

He has softened his language about it a tiny bit since getting the CNN gig, but he has said some really nasty shit for no good reason in the past.

I find him totally weird on the topic.
