I found the same exact plan-b pill, by the same company, selling for two different prices...

Both contained 1.5 mg of Levonorgestrel. Both were manufactured by Gedeon Richter. So, in essence, both were the same.

The only difference was that one had a price 10 dollars higher than the other. I assume this has two benefits for the pharmaceutical company. The first is many will spend the extra 10 dollars not wanting to risk using an inferior product. The second is it allows the company to claim they offer multiple "affordable" plan-b options despite both being exactly the same product. It also may allow for a monopolization under the pretense of consumer choice.

This was at one of the largest drug store chains in the United States. Do not fall for the scam.

I'm wondering if this may constitute false advertising in a legal sense. Gravitycollapse Jun 2014 #3

chances are the price difference is brought on by the middleman. Pharma companies will generally try to make an "off brand" or generic look different and make them in a different plant if they want to make it look like a different drug.
