Dinesh. I think we may have jumped off the deep end.

Fox News host Megyn Kelly couldn't help but laugh when conservative author Dinesh D'Souza compared the United States to a child molester on her show Monday night.

D'Souza was promoting his new film and book "America: Imagine A World Without Her." He argued that President Barack Obama was of a generation that views America as a "force for evil."

"Well, look at it this way. It's not that Obama hates America. It's not that he's trying to take America down," D'Souza explained. "It's almost like this. If I was in a family and I believed my dad was some kind of a serial killer or child molester, I would still love him. He would still be part of my family, but I'd do everything I could to prevent him from doing these evil actions. I would think that would be not only good for the world, but good for my dad. So with Obama, he believes that he's doing the world a favor and America a favor by controlling this rogue elephant that is the United States."

"So America is the child molester in this scenario?" Kelly chuckled. "Just trying to follow, Dinesh. I think we may have jumped off the deep end."

His guilty plea was a month ago. There would normally be more time allotted before the sentencing, so that lawyers can prepare arguments for the judge's consideration. It also allows time for submissions from other people -- victim impact statements and other calls for a stiffer sentence, along with testimonials from people who speak to the defendant's fine character and good work and call for a lighter sentence.

As far as I can tell from a quick search, he hasn't yet been sentenced and is out on bail. There's nothing improper about that.

that Megyn Kelly (and the production crew in the background) bust out laughing, you KNOW your 15 minutes have long since been up.

So effectively, he's a clown they put on for entertainment value only, much like Sarah Palin and her goofy talk. I think he realized that, at the very end, where he hesitated and flinched at the spontaneous guffaws directed his way.

Something seriously messed up with Dinesh. Really. Either he is just really clueless or he is in fact some kind of psychopath.
